'Have You Seen The Body?' Tom Ford Dishes On Dressing Justin Timberlake

Tom Ford: 'When you’re someone in your early 50s, and a major global pop star who’s barely 30 identifies with your style and wants you to make all his clothes, you think, ‘I’m still valid.'
Justin Timberlake managed to do the near impossible, transforming from a curly haired, cheesy pop star in N Sync to a slick, suit n' tie wearing mega star. Justin has committed many a fashion crime, from wearing lilac lenses to bandanas and cornrows to that matching denim disaster with Ms Britney Spears. Skip a decade or two and the only style risk Justin takes is with a statement bow tie.
But what (or who) is his secret style weapon? Two words: Tom Ford. Mr JT wears his suits on the red carpet, such as at the Grammys, the Brits and the SAG Awards. Tom Ford also collaborated with Justin on the artwork for his album the 20/20 Experience and his music video 'Suit & Tie'. The pair teamed up to create made-to-measure tailoring, including eveningwear, ties, shirts, suits and accessories that a rep said was the 'focal point of the 20/20 Experience.'
Ford has now spoken out about Mr JT's style for a feature in the New York Times about Justin's impressive style evolution. Surprise, surprise the designer is not a fan of curls and cornrows, 'I happen to like the hair straighter.' But he is a fan of his bod, as he said 'Have you seen the body?'

Tom Ford dressed Justin for 'The 20/20 Experience' album

Dressing Justin Timberlake would make you feel pretty cool, and Tom is obviously proud of being the Sexy Back star's style guru. As he said 'When you’re someone in your early 50s, and a major global pop star who’s barely 30 identifies with your style and wants you to make all his clothes, you think, ‘I’m still valid.' As the New York Timespoints out Mr. Timberlake is, in fact, 32.
So what is the inspiration behind Timberlake's look? Well Cary Grant is the buzzword in the feature and apparently he grew up as a circus performer not knowing how to dress. So don't feel too bad about the denim dungarees and red leather trousers Justs. 'To say ‘Frank Sinatra’ is wrong,' Tom Ford said of his style inspiration. 'But Justin was identifying with a sort of young, Rat Pack fantasy in some way, and that is a terrific look for him.'
